Home 9 Resources 9 Webinar: Good practice in supporting direct payment recipients during the COVID-19 pandemic

Across England, councils are taking different approaches to supporting direct payment recipients throughout the pandemic.

In this webinar you will hear from Catherine Harper about Medway Council’s in-house direct payment support service, and from Pat Stack, London Self-Directed Support Forum.

The host Martin Walker, TLAP policy advisor led a lively Q & A session in which attendees’ questions were put to the panelists. Speakers reflected on their involvement with the Department of Health and Social Care Direct Payment Support Forum.

“It is really interesting to hear how different councils have come to similar but slightly different approaches to this situation. The amount of change and the ‘unknowns’ were the most difficult to deal with and communicate with recipients, especially when the national advice contradicted advice we had given to our recipients”.
