Third National Personal Budget Survey (POET 2014)

Home 9 Resources 9 Third National Personal Budget Survey (POET 2014)

The Poet survey looks at the experiences of personal budget holders and their carers and is based on the Personal Outcomes Evaluation Tool (POET). Published by TLAP, In Control and Lancaster University, it is the largest survey to date with over 4,000 participants.

Poet is intended to support council practitioners to improve the delivery of personal budgets by learning from other areas.

Results show that people in receipt of personal budgets are more likely to report good “outcomes” when their views are included in the allocation process and they are helped to plan their support.

Another significant finding is that those who experience the resource allocation process as easy are three times more likely to report good outcomes with having their health and social care needs met.
