TLAP welcomes new digital personalisation guide from SCIE

Published: 19 Nov, 2012

SCIE’s original publication of, “Personalisation: A rough guide”, was so successful that they distributed over 100,000 copies. Building on that success, the new digital guide to personalisation has been re-launched in an innovative online format. The guide is aimed at a wide audience, for instance social care workers and personal assistants, as well as trainers and occupational therapists, and contains easily accessible related materials embedded in the text. For the first time, the guide is available for tablets and mobile devices.

TLAP co-chairs, Sue Bott and Bill Davidson said:

“This [guide] is a really valuable resource, not just for professionals, but for people who use services, families and carers too. We know that copies of the original, printed guide, were very popular and we’ve fully supported the development of this new, digital version. At the end of the day, the focus has to be on improving the experiences of people who use care and support based on what they say they want. One of the best ways of doing that is to help care staff and managers to provide personalised services. This new digital guide is packed full of tips and suggestions of new ways to work.”
