TLAP calls for practice examples: availability of local information and advice on finding care

Published: 20 Feb, 2013

The Think Local Act Personal Partnership (TLAP), working closely with the Department of Health, is keen to capture knowledge that will help inform councils as they develop strategies for implementing aspects of the White Paper around improving the availability of information, advice and support for people seeking help with finding, choosing, arranging and paying for care.

The first stage of this process (to be completed in April 2013) is to gather examples of the initiatives councils and other groups are taking. These examples will then be developed into a resource that shares the local approaches others are taking to improve the availability of information around care provision and processes.

The second stage (to be completed in 2013/14) will be to dedicate resources to undertake a more in-depth investigation into the business models and cost effectiveness of some selected examples. This will provide those involved with information that will be useful locally, and be drawn together into a resource that will support the wider development of cost-effective approaches.

TLAP is calling for practice examples to help us complete the first stage of the process, and has commissioned the Social Care Institute for Excellence to undertake the first stage of this work to gather examples.

The attached document details examples that TLAP is interested in, but this list is by no means exhaustive. If you would like to submit any example of care information and advice services or support that you feel others would benefit from learning about, please let us know.

To submit your examples please email alice.bell@scie.org.uk. The deadline to submit examples is 8 March 2013.
