TLAP announces new Partnership co-chairs

Published: 28 Mar, 2013

Think Local Act Personal (TLAP) is pleased to announce Clenton Farquharson and Marjory Broughton as the new partnership co-chairs.

They will take over from Sue Bott and Bill Davidson as the elected representatives from the National Co-production Advisory Group – a 20-strong group of people who use services and family carers who are central to the work of TLAP in taking forward personalised, community-based support.

In welcoming Clenton and Marjory to the roles, TLAP Director Sam Bennett says:
“Working in co-production with people who use services and carers is our strength and integral to our work, both through the example we set to others and in the delivery of our programme. I congratulate Clenton and Marjory on their appointment and look forward to working with them on making choice, control and active citizenship real, so that people with care and support needs have good support and good lives. I’d also like to say thank you to the outgoing chairs Sue Bott and Bill Davidson for their eloquence, vision, energy and dedication in making co-production an essential part of TLAP’s work.”

Clenton says of his appointment:
“It is a great honour for me to have this opportunity to represent the National Co-production Advisory Group as a TLAP co-chair and I thank them for their support in asking me to represent their views to the Partnership. Every generation stands on the shoulders of those that went before. TLAP is building on the foundation that is personalisation and we will be working hard to uphold the great work that Sue Bott and Bill Davidson have done before us.”

Marjory says of her appointment:
“It is a great honour for me to be elected to co-chair the Partnership and to represent NCAG. I look forward to promoting the Ageing Agenda and sharing information between the partnership and people who use services and family carers, while upholding our values of genuine co-production and being a critical friend to the work of TLAP.”

Clenton and Marjory will work alongside the partnership board, chaired by Alex Fox, representing the Care Provider Alliance and Sarah Pickup, current president of ADASS. Sandie Keane, ADASS president elect, will take over from Sarah as TLAP board co-chair in the Autumn.
