Strengthening adult social care is an investment in everyone’s future

Published: 16 Dec, 2024

We’re proud to join over 100 organisations in signing a public statement calling on Government to address the pressures on councils, care providers, and charities. We are ready to work with the Government, as equal partners, to bring about the long-term changes needed to build social care that enables everyone to live their life their way.

When properly resourced and organised, adult social care is an important way in which adults of all ages, with different reasons for drawing on care, are able to live well.

However, without significant action and investment, adult social care faces immense challenges. Rising costs, workforce pressures, and inadequate funding are making it harder to provide the care people are entitled to. Without a shift in how social care is resourced, people who draw on adult social care risk losing vital support.

This statement calls on the Government to see funding for adult social care not as a cost, but as an investment in people’s lives. It is a shared commitment to building social care that values everyone.
