Have your say on fair pay in adult social care

Published: 24 Feb, 2026

The Government is consulting on plans for a fair pay agreement in adult social care. These plans could affect people who work in care and support, as well as people who employ personal assistants or fund their own support. The Easy Read consultation is open until 6 March, and now is the time to have your say.

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has shared new ideas about a fair pay agreement for people who work in adult social care. This is about how pay and conditions for the workforce could be agreed in the future and how to make them fairer.

Members of the National Co-production Advisory Group (NCAG) met with the DHSC during the consultation period to share their thoughts on the proposals. You can also read about the DHSC’s ideas and tell them what you think by filling out an online survey.

An Easy Read version of the consultation is open until 6 March.

Think Local Act Personal (TLAP) and NCAG are pleased to have contributed to this work and look forward to further opportunities to work together as plans for a fair pay agreement develop.
