Programme Closure – March 2011
The three year national and regional programme – Putting People First, is closing at the end of March 2011. I would like to thank all those many individuals and organisations who have participated and contributed to the programme – sharing, collaborating, problem solving, and designing together. There has been good progress in the SW although we have still some way to go with rolling out personal budgets.
Work will continue to implement the government’s Vision for Adult Social Care which puts personalisation at its centre. The purpose of this bulletin is to outline the legacy arrangements in relation to future regional networks, and indicate how to access programme resources and information.

Finally on a personal note, I want to say thank you to the many individuals who have given me support and encouragement over the life of the programme. I have very much enjoyed the last three years and I trust that together we have built a solid foundation on which all partners in the SW can go forward to deliver more personalised and effective services which promote independence choice and control for service users and carers.
Pam Richards – SW Region personalisation Co-ordinator.
