Definition
Taking some kind of action in response to a person’s behaviour, to prevent or restrict their movement. This may include physically holding them, using some kind of equipment to restrain them, or putting them in a separate room or space by themselves. It should only be done for a limited amount of time, which should be stated in the person’s support plan.
