Together we can - co-production for people with complex needs

Added on

Co-production and *asset-based community development (ABCD) are widely acknowledged to represent best practice in health and social care. Yet there is limited and mixed evidence for including people with complex needs in helping to shape the services they use.

The Young Foundation and Spice sought to address this gap in policy and practice by conducting a piece of research on asset-based community development. Their report Together we can exposes the potential for involving people with complex needs in service design and makes a call to action for policy makers, commissioners and service providers.

*Asset -based community development is a methodology that seeks to uncover and use the strengths within communities as a means for sustainable development. See our jargon Buster for further terms.
