The National Collaborating Centre for Social Care (NCCSC) is a consortium led by partner organisation SCIE.

NCCSC has been commissioned by NICE to produce a guideline on identifying and responding to abuse and neglect of children and young people. They are recruiting for two positions.

A chair to lead their Guideline Development Group (GDG) and a member to join the GDG recruitment panel for selecting the Chair.

Chair

Applications for the position of chair to the GDG are open to people from the health and social care sector: practitioners, professionals, managers, people who use services and their carers, academia and the wider social care and health community.

Key skills

  • An interest in and understanding of this topic and experience of working in social care and/or health.
  • Experience of working with multi-professional committees or working groups at national, regional or local level.
  • Strong interpersonalskills and excellent verbal and written skills
  • Ability to communicate complex issues to differing audiences.

Time commitment

You will be expected to attend four meetings May- August.

Guideline Recruitment Panel

NCSSC are also hiring members to join the recruitment panel responsible for selecting the Chair of the Guideline Development Group. They are interested to hear from people who have personal experience and knowledge of care services either from the perspective of being a carer or as a person in receipt of care.

A fee and expenses will be paid.
