Change, the leading national human rights organisation led by disabled people, is organising a national event for people with learning disabilities. The event is a campaign to call for the closure of institutions in the UK and across Europe so that people with learning disabilities experience real choice and control over their lives.

The event will take place in Leeds on Thursday 26 June. It is supported by Lumos, J.K. Rowling's charity, which works to get children out of institutional care across Europe. Norman Lamb, Minister of State, Department of Health will be speaking.

Change are inviting other self-advocacy organisations to get involved with the planning and management, and they are keen to promote the event as early as possible to allow as many people as possible get ready and attend on the day.
