Framework for supporting personal assistants

Added on

Skills for Care have published 'An evaluation of working for personalised care: A framework for supporting personal assistants working in adult social care'. This framework, which is also known as the PA framework, was produced by the Department of Health (DH) in 2011.

Skills for Care were tasked with developing an implementation plan for the framework and then leading on the delivery of the activities specified in this plan. An evaluation of the PA framework was commissioned in May 2013. The evaluation had two main objectives:

  • to describe and assess the effectiveness of the activities undertaken as part of the PA framework and its implementation plan
  • to gain an indication of the impact that this work stream has had on the overall challenges facing the PA workforce and employers.

A full evaluation report and executive summary is now available to view on the Skills for Care website.
